The Morality Players

The four main 'Morality Players' are characterised in ways that express distinctive perspectives on making moral judgements:

Prince: A young man with strong moral principles. He has a strong sense of Christian duty. Technically he might be called an ethical absolutist or deontologist

Sceptic Hank: A man in his twenties who questions all claims to certainty. He is suspicious of assumptions that go beyond observable evidence. Technically he can be described as a sceptic, but with a mildly cynical streak.

Free Floater: A young woman who just wants to enjoy herself. She is full of life, equally impatient of social conventions or advice from anyone who thinks they know better. Technically she is an impetuous amoralist.

Luvalot: A slightly older woman who cares deeply about the world. She recognises the force of changing circumstances She wants to be true to her faith, but she always listens. A sensitive situationist Christian.
